So this is my take on delicate. As I was thinking about it, I thought about delicate flowers, M's eyelashes and soft skin, and delicate tree branches covered in ice. But then as we were walking outside in the ice covered sidewalk and streets, I noticed 2 things. One how carefully and delicately M was walking. The other thing I noticed was the ice itself. It had such a unique and delicate pattern to it. The way the ice would crack when walked on. So as out of the box or unique as this may be, this was what I wanted to capture for delicate. Ice. I loved the delicate texture it had to it. (and I loved that it kept us indoors together as a family for a few days!)

So I actually kind of had a hard time with this theme at first. I was thinking very literally about how to creatively capture a door and with all of my plain white doors, that just wasn't clicking. But then tonight as I was sitting on the floor playing blocks with my daughter, I realized that for her, blocks were a door to her creative world. I could just see her little mind just turning as she was building and creating and knocking down.

I'm jumping in a little late but I'm joining Paint the Moon's Project 52. I need some challenges right now to keep going with photography! So I'm going to be adding the first few weeks now as I'm jumping in late but from now on, I'm hoping to be posting weekly photos at least!

I can't believe my baby girl is 2 years old! It has gone by too fast... I love this girl. Her giggle, her humor, her faces, her dramatics, her kisses, every.single.thing.about.this.girl!!

So I was fortunate enough to make a quick trip home this past weekend. I loved seeing all of my siblings! Especially my little sister who is expecting her first little one due in just a few more weeks. She has had a tough pregnancy- including being on bedrest for the past 7/8 weeks. I was so excited when she asked me to take a few pictures- completely impromptu Sunday evening. She is gorgeous and I love her baby belly! And what I love about these is that it goes to show that you don't need a fancy camera to take pictures. These were all taken with my small Canon point and shoot and then just edited using some of these great free actions. Congrats Deborah and I can't wait to meet the new little guy!

I love this family and was so happy to take some holiday family pictures for them. And we did it just in time too- it snowed the next day! These guys are awesome. M especially loved seeing her boy H again since we've been away... we just had to sneak one in there of the two of them. :) Hope you like your pictures guys!

I can't even believe my baby is 1 yrs old! What a big girl. While we've been visiting family for the Holidays, I found these 2 different items in our home that I had to use in a few pictures of M. The first is my grandmothers first suitcase she ever owned. And the second was my rocker growing up. I had my fair share of timeouts in that rocker. Love it. To bad I usually wasn't that happy while sitting in it... Happy Holidays and there is still time to get Holiday pictures done if you haven't done them yet!

So some days baby M thinks that mom is just boring and is not into what she wants to do that day. I made this tutu awhile back and have been dying to take baby M here for a few pics. I had so many ideas rolling around but as we got started, I scrapped those grand plans to try and at least get a few pics of her in the tutu. As you can see, this was not her thing today...

That was until a lady walked by and stopped to smile at baby M and called her cute. All of a sudden, baby M's whole disposition and attitude towards the pictures changed. She started smiling at us, sitting still, totally posing and cheesing it up! To bad at that point, we had to leave! Oh well- I'm still happy with what we got. And wow- what a little social bug, drama queen we already have at only 8 months!

Oh my. How sweet is this newborn? And only 4 days old! I can't get over how tiny her little features are. She was just so alert and wide eyed the entire shoot. I couldn't narrow my favorites down, I loved all of the pictures. So enjoy R family! I can't wait to get her in my lens again...

So while I was home, I was able to spend time with my sweet sister and her wonderfully fun boys. She is a great mom and her boys are all just as sweet as can be, so fun and active, and are so good to help out. We were able to get a couple good shots of each boy, even Nana and Papa, and then just have some fun together on the trampoline. Thanks guys for letting me capture some of your fun!
